MPSC EXAM INFORMATION
Maharashtra public service commission
As per Section 315, there will be a Public Service
Commission for the State. As per Section 316, provisions have been made
regarding the composition, appointment and tenure of members of the State
Public Service Commission.
The Public Service Commission will have a Chairman and other
members who will be appointed by the Governor. There is no provision in the
constitution regarding the number of other members i.e. their number is decided
by the Governor.
The opinion or advice of the State Public Service Commission is not sought while determining the reservation of seats in appointments and posts for any backward class of citizens.
The advice of the State Public Service Commission is not
taken into consideration while considering the demands of Scheduled Castes and
Scheduled Tribes and making appointments to services and posts.
Role
The Constitution of India has created the State Public Service
Commission as the custodian of the quality system in the state. The Commission
provides advice on recruitment and promotion of public servants in the state
service.
State governors consult the state public service commission
to make appointments to the judiciary or to make their rules.
The role of the State Public Service Commission is advisory.
The advice given by the Commission is not binding on the State Government.
Who can take the mpsc commission exam?
The conditions of eligibility for the examinations of the
Commission are given in the relevant advertisement. Generally a graduate
student can take the MPSC exam. The mpsc examination is an important
examination in the state for the appointment of civil servants in classes 1, 2
